A group class is a wonderful thing. The shared energy of the room, the rhythm of practicing alongside others, the quiet camaraderie of breathing together — there is a reason yoga has gathered people in groups for thousands of years.
A private session is a different thing entirely.
It is a practice built around the body in front of the teacher — not a sequence built for the average of the room. It is your goals, your pace, your questions, your schedule. Whether you are working through something specific, deepening an existing practice, or simply curious about what yoga could feel like when nothing about it is a compromise — a private session is the answer.
Every style we offer in our group classes is available as a private session. If you already know what you love, we will build the session around it. If you don’t, that is what the first conversation is for — describe what you’re looking for, and we’ll match you with the right style and the right instructor.
In a group class, the teacher serves the average. In a private session, the teacher serves the individual. Every choice — the pose, the duration, the modification, the music, even the temperature — is calibrated to what your body and your nervous system actually need that day.
Most students who plateau in their practice plateau because group classes don’t have the time to address what is specifically holding them back. Thirty minutes of focused, hands-on attention from a senior instructor can move a practice further than weeks of group classes.
Privates work around your week, not the studio’s. Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, the hour you have between meetings — we will find the time that works for you.
Private doesn’t have to mean alone. Many of our most-loved private engagements are duos — couples preparing for a wedding, parent-and-adult-child practicing together, two longtime friends carving out a regular standing session. Small private groups (up to six) bring close friends, families, or a tight-knit work team into the same intentional space.
Two locations work for most clients:
• At the studio. Our Hollywood studio offers full prop access (chairs, bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets, eye pillows), a quiet warm room and a temperate room, and zero distractions from the rest of your day. Many clients prefer this for the experience of fully stepping away.
• At your home or chosen space. We bring everything — mats, props, music, calm. Particularly nice for clients with mobility considerations, parents of young children, or anyone who prefers practicing in their own environment. We travel throughout Broward and Miami-Dade.
Yoga 1 instructors are credentialed (200-hour, 500-hour, and Iyengar-certified depending on style), insured, and selected for their ability to teach individuals — not just groups. Before your first session, we match you with the instructor whose specialty and teaching style fits your goals. Switching instructors later is welcomed and easy if you decide a different match would serve you better..
• 1:1 — the most personalized experience. Pure focus on you.
• Duos — couples, parent-and-adult-child, friend pairs. The intimacy of a private with the warmth of practicing alongside someone you care about.
• Small private groups (up to 6) — tight-knit friend groups, families, small office teams, bridal parties. All the customization of a private; all the energy of a group.
60 minutes is standard. 75 and 90-minute sessions are available for clients who want more depth, and 30-minute focused sessions work well for clients fitting practice into a busy day.
Some clients book one session to try it.
Others build standing weekly or twice-monthly sessions into their routine. There is no required cadence — we’ll suggest what fits your goals after the first conversation.
The simplest first step is a short conversation. Tell us what you’re hoping for, ask whatever questions you have, and we’ll suggest the right format, style, and instructor.
